Vintage Easter Note cards

I came across some really beautiful vintage Easter images, and since I am a sucker for all things vintage, I had to make them into note cards! These would be perfect to send to friends or write a little spring note on!

My favorite one is the He is Risen Cross. Its such a beautiful expression that I don't think about enough!

Happy Spring to you!

Rock Star Birthday Party

Can I just weep tears of cuteness? Because when I came across this Beatles Themed Birthday Kids party, my creative tear ducts swelled up with tears made of glitter.
Okay, call me a little crafty-dramatic, but I really love to see how people think of adorable themes and run with them.
And I also love that the Beatles song, "Come Together" was used...

That twinkle yellow submarine??!?! Worth the whole party theme.
Just adorable.

These rockstar graphics (from a Come Together Greeting Card)  would be perfect on an invitation for a rock star party like this!

By the way, have you ever heard the soundtrack of the movie "I am Sam"? Its a collection of Beatles's covered by different artists and its really good....if you like music! If you don't, then you probably wouldn't like it. :)

Ballard Designs Recreated

Have you ever seen the catalog from Ballard designs? I am pining over these pillows. I LOVE them.

I think they are so cute and would look great on my bed :)

I thought this canvas was really cute when I saw it in the catalog, and lo-and-behold someone found a thrifty way to re-create it. Thrifty AND cute- you are speaking my language!

Zebra print bachorlette party

Some designs are easy to do because I have learned the design style of the person ordering. Sarah Beth, as it turns out, has similar taste to my personal taste, and is laid back enough to give me a few details and let me run with it. That is super fun for me, and as a result, I had a ball designing this sassy zebra print bachelorette party invitation.

So imagine my delight when I came across this AMAZING, funky, and spunky ZEBRA shower!
Ohhh, I die of loooooove!

I think this is so fun and a theme that could be used for so many things- baby, shower, birthday- just like jeans, zebra can go with anything!
I did this wedding shower invitation in pink and zebra, and it could be tweaked to match this party theme too!

I don't look a day over 31...

My box was not nearly this cool.

I am just SURE of it! But, alas, today I am 32.

In celebration of all the fun I am having, let me share some random tidbits with you from my years of life, my blog friend.

Looking back, this is weird

As a kid, I loved making "clubhouses", which is a dressed up name for a box. I would decorate a box with magazine cutouts, drawings and flowers, then  spend all my time in there reading and playing. I think my parents got a little bit worried about me when I started sleeping in the box. (Flashback to comments about being homeless if I don't start getting out of the box). So, my clubhouse days were over but then I found the closet under the stairs and channeled my inner-homeless-woman in there.

I wrote a love letter to a celebrity

You carried a watermelon!?

After watching Dirty Dancing and not putting Baby in a corner, I was in pre-teen LUV with Patrick Swayze. I wrote him a fan letter and then put lipstick on and kissed it. My brother made fun of me, of course, but I was really happy when I got a letter from Patty in return. Until my brother told me the signature was fake and some kid in the fan club probably wrote it. Aren't brothers mean?! :) That ruined celebrity crushes for me so when everyone was wearing their oversized NKOTB pin, I was thinking "meh".

Why did my parents think this was a good idea?
I was made to dress up like a magic skunk for Halloween.
Its too painful to discuss.

Birthday cake of choice
My very favorite cake to eat is Strawberry Cake from celebrity bakery in Dallas.

Thanks for joining me to celebrate!

10 fun facts and guilty pleasures

My 30th birthday was an all PINK party

This is my birthday weekend, and if you are me, that means you want to celebrate for about a week. I like for my birthday to last a really long time until everyone is sick of it :) So, blogger friends, you must play along too! I thought it would be fun to post some random tidbits about myself that you may not know...

                  • My nickname is Dot b/c my nephew couldn't say Courtney when he was little and somehow Dot stuck. Now, a majority of people in my life call me Dot. So, no, its not short for Dorothy. Although Courtney Dorothy does have a beautiful ring to it.

  • I bought our current car by myself while my husband was out of town. (with his blessing, of course!). I researched it, haggled, and drove it home. Cue the music to "Independent Women" now...

  • When I was a kid, I wanted to be a anchorperson until I figured out the media sometimes can exploit people to make a better news story.  If I could make myself stand the sight of blood, I would be a nurse, now. I think the hours can be worked out great for raising kids. But since I have the weakest stomach just looking at raw hamburger meat, I don't think my future is going to work out as an RN.

  • We were Ron Burgendy and Veronica Corningstone for Halloween
  • Odd jobs I have had:
    Cable box picker-upper
    Gap and Sephora
    Mystery Shopper
    Adoption Counselor
    Preschool Bible Study Associate

  •  I bite my nails. I try to paint them b/c I don't bite them if they are painted, but since they are not fake, the paint does not stay on very long and I bite them again. I have overcome this habit a million different times in my life, but no matter what, my thumbs are ALWAYS short.
  • I was held at gunpoint by a Branch Dividian in college

  • I am not anal about many things, but one matter than I like to plan well is time management. I do not like to waste time at all. This quality can be good and bad. I have to be aware of it in places like bible studies (or anywhere where we tend to wonder off track or do not have a structured schedule ). I like to be effective in carrying things out so I have time to do all that I need to do and then spend time with my family, so I have to really watch this quality so I do not become impatient with others

  • I am addicted to drinks from Sonic and Fruit Punch gummies. I like to have a drink in my hand at all times through the day.

  • Every year at Christmas we have the same traditional dinner that my dad had growing up- ham with bread baked around it

  • I never, ever go barefoot. Even around my house. Even in the morning. Never. I always wear house shoes or at the least wear socks.
What is something people don't know about you?

Stores to Shop:Andersons

If my house looked like this I might never leave home....

Probably the only way this is gonna happen is if I pitch a tent in my new favorite store, Andersons!

This wonderful store is full of eye candy. They have several locations around Dallas, and it pretty much all to die for. If you are not in Dallas, you can check them out online, too.

I was lucky enough to borrow a lamp from here to use for my TV appearances. The lamp was super cool with a price tag to match and I was so nervous to lug it around! Thankfully, I made it back with it all in one piece.

I am not receiving anything for blogging about my favorite stores- I just want to share the places I love with you!

Have you been to Anderson's? What did you want/buy?
